Why the WL-340 is the Preferred Choice for Customers: A REM Customer Shares Their Experience “Its high precision and trouble free servo motors, combined with the intuitive touch-screen controls, ensure flawless color registration—even at high speeds. Plus, the automated plate-loading system largely shorten the change-over time, making it ideal for our demanding short-run luxury label work.”

WL-340 adopts the servo technology from Bosch Rexroth (Germany): brushless servo motors, control drives, all touch screens, cables and PLC, to guarantee extremely stable printing over time. The operation of this machine is fast, simple and convenient.

Shaftless Transmission System: each printing unit is motorized regardless its servo motor; a 6-color machine is equipped with a set of 15 servo motors to allow the exact color register even during operation at high speeds. Each printing unit is equipped with a friction device: to be stopped independently when required. This system increases the operational life of the machine.

Heavy Duty Printing Unit: print head with highest quality and robustness. Assembled with 19 transport rollers and ink milling with micrometric adjustment; 4 inking rollers on the plate and 1 with complete emulsion (water-ink) to guarantee a very high level of coverage and high print quality, eliminating ghost problems. Dampening system Water + Alcohol with cooling unit; each printing head is equipped with 4 dampening rolls.

UV drying units: each unit is equipped with a cooling fan; automatic power adjustment depending on printing speed; independent power supply for each individual UV unit; possibility to install water-cooled plates; each group has a dedicated and independent control panel; control of the UV exhaust is automatically managed.

Pre-Register system: fast and accurate, the only operation required is to set the printing step in the control panel and each print unit will automatically move to the pre-setting position. This saves time and material during printing register setting.

Printing Register System: cross and longitudinal registers of each printing unit are controlled by independent motors. Thanks to the control panel and the BST vision camera, the operator can fix the printing register in a very short time without downtime and with low waste materials. As an option, it is possible to install the automatic register control with cylinder marking system.

High Printing Size: 310 x 350mm, the maximum printing length is 350mm which is equivalent to a maximum mechanical speed, with maximum repeat length, of 63m/min.

Touch Screen LCD: control display with very fast CPU; independent touch screens for each printing unit (no disadvantage given by mobile controllers: more sensitive to faults, the operator has to drag it along the entire length of the machine, easier to hit and damage as it protrudes from the machine line).Each unit is equipped with a controller, a powerful human computer interface system and instant alarm signals. All this makes operation simpler and more efficient.

Automatic Circular Lubrication: ensures longer and more efficient life to all mechanical parts working in contact. The machine generates an alarm if for 10 minutes there is no lubrication and it will stop automatically if the same lasts up to 30 minutes

Motorized skip plate register: the correction, which can be managed from the main operator control panel, acts ONLY ON THE PRINTING PLATE CYLINDER and not on the entire unit. The correction takes place by main control panel as for the longitudinal and lateral register.

Unwinding unit: automatic tension control of the unwinding material. Unwinder with automatic reel lifting system; web guide unit managed by ultrasound technology; pneumatic mandrel diameter 76mm; automatic machine stop at the end of the reel; maximum reel diameter 800mm; in-feed roller managed by servo motor.

Rewinding unit: drive by independent motor; automatic tension control management; tangential matrix waste recovery system.

Simple Printing Plates Mounting System: ensures a job change in 5 minutes: remove the old plates from the machine and insert the new ones on a 4-color job. Accurate system for punching and bending plates automatically with cameras supervision to ensure extreme precision and high speed.
